Omsk all set to host Gazprom Neft Cup guests

14 April 2014

Naturally, the most important part of the Gazprom Neft Cup are the games where young players will vie for the trophy. The games start simultaneously in Minsk and Omsk on April 20, and finish exactly five days later with the Super Final at the Omsk Arena. The Siberian city is ready for its guests, as confirmed today at a meeting of the East Group organizing committee in Omsk. The meeting also discussed the Tournament’s non-match program.

Two workshops are scheduled for team managers during the Tournament, and the Honoured Coach of Russia, Vladimir Yurzinov senior, will offer the benefit of his experience on the day of the Super Final (April 25). When not playing or training, the young teams will be able to enjoy guided tours of Omsk. But the tours will be subject to agreement with coaches, who will be keen to ensure discipline and regularity for their teams.

Winners of the East Group and the overall Tournament will receive their prizes in Omsk from some of the most prominent names in Russian ice hockey: the Honoured Coach of Russia and ice-hockey expert, Sergei Gimaev, and the Honoured Sport Master of USSR, Yury Lyapkin.

Gazprom Neft Cup games will also be attended by the Avangard head coach, Raimo Summanen: fans will have a chance to salute the new (and old) trainer of the Omsk team on April 22 and 25.
