The best possible conditions for mass media

27 January 2014 | Report

A meeting of the Organising Committee of the 8th Gazprom Neft Cup KHL Youth Ice Hockey Tournament was held on 27 January 2014 in the city of Omsk. One of the key questions discussed was mass media coverage of the East Group qualifying tournament and super-final.

“We will provide the best-possible working conditions for all representatives of mass media,” said Oleg Malitsky, the Manager of the Gazprom Neft Cup Press Center. “All those taking part in the Tournament will be available for comment, so journalists and broadcasters will have access to all the latest exclusive news and comments. The match schedule is very tight, so we are keen to ensure that media representatives will have every opportunity to provide high-quality, up-to-the-minute coverage.”

Several media outlets have already applied to cover the Tournament, led by Championat.com, the leading RuNet sports resource, which will act as the Gazprom Neft Cup information partner in 2014 for the fourth year in a row.

Avangard Hockey Club will support media coverage of the Tournament, publishing all the news, scores, video reports, and comments by coaches, players and experts on the Club web-site and on web-pages of the Omsk Hawks in social networks.

Qualifying matches in the East Group will be held from 20 to 22 April 2014 in the Omsk Arena ice palace, the largest ice-hockey venue east of the Urals which can hold more than 10,000 spectators. On 25 April the Siberian hockey capital will host the Gazprom Neft Cup Super-final, bringing together the winners of the West and East Groups.
