Hockey Capitals Begin Preparations for the 8th Tournament

Minsk has hosted the meeting of the Organising Committee of the 8th International Gazprom Neft Cup KHL Youth Ice Hockey Tournament. During the meeting, the new concept of the Tournament was approved and the format and dates of the event were set. For the first time in the Cup’s history, in 2014 the Tournament will be held in two cities: in the Siberian ice hockey capital — Omsk and in Minsk, which will welcome the best players of modern times during the World Championship next year.

The West Group teams of the Gazprom Neft Cup will play in Minsk at Chizhovka-Arena on April 20–22, 2014. At the same time, two ice rinks in Omsk will host games of the East Group teams.

The winners of the group stage will meet in Omsk on April 25 to participate in the final game to decide the winner of the 8th Gazprom Neft Cup. The grand final will be held in Omsk Arena, Russia’s largest ice hockey stadium.
